Thank you for those of my era that have answered my Similarities, Differences, and Judgements page. I would like to thank Ms. Lillian Gish and Ms. Lillian Lorraine for meeting with our era at the discussion dinner. I hope the rest of the people invited will arrive eventually! Remember, our dinner only lasts until the minute before this Saturday, May the 5th, 2012!

Einführung (Introduction)

Guten Tag! My name is Friedrich Gustav Max Schreck. I am one of the most prestigious stage actors in Germany during the 1910s, and I am best known for my debut appearance as Nosferatu in the self-titled movie. Unfortunately, the company that had hired me as Nosferatu was soon sued for legal troubles regarding the movie. I appeared in few films after this and I rarely appeared on stage at all. My most notable appearance, however, will plague the dreams of small children for decades to come.

Nine years after F.W. Murnau was sued for copyright infringement on Bram Stoker's Dracula, this movie premiered:

He may be more famous, or infamous, as being the vampire on the siver screen, but I was always the first, and best, that there would ever be.

Cinemas used to be a grand spectacle to behold; architecture was unique and beautiful, and the films were just as wonderful. Of course, stage was still more important to me than screen was.

F.W. Murnau. A good man who did what he loved. Murnau directed many films, including Nosferatu. This picture shows him behind the camera on-set while also directing. A creative man, he enjoyed his art; however, he had no common sense with legalities.

Academy Awards first were won in 1928: I easiy could have won best actor if these awards were established earlier. Aberwie das ist, wie funktioniert!

This book provided the basis for the story we told through film. Ironically, we did so illegally. The producer went bankrupt after being sued by Bram Stoker's estate.

An original preview of Nosferatu shown in cinemas prior to the feature film. This trailer seems to highlight all of my darkest moments in the story.

Nosferatu, a Symphony of Horror. Terrifying, indeed! One of the various cinema posters released as advertisement for German moviegoers.

One of my many quotes in the film Nosferatu. I always seemed to play the darker gentlemen in the cinema.

This is the main camera model that was used in the recording of most films that I appeared in. This marvel of technology worked like many photographic cameras by sending film behind the lens. Film went from one container to the other.

One of my headshots I used towards the end of my career. On the back of each would be my resume, which had my name, contact information, and my former stage credits printed.
